School of Network and Communication Engineering

The School of Network and Communication Engineering(hereafter referred to as SNCE) was established on January 8, 2013 based on network and communication-related specialties of School of Software (formerly known as School of Computer Science and Technology) and School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering.

 

SNCE has four offices, i.e., the administration office, the student work office, the office of production and education and the office of practice&teaching management. The school also has set up two teaching and research branches of computer network technology and modern communication technology.

 

With a focus on the ICT industry chain, SNCE strives to foster a new generation of information technology talents and actively promotes the development of Internet industry and broadband mobile communications industry.

 

Engaged in the state-level project of “Professional Teaching Repository of Information Security and Management of Vocational Education” and provincial key specialties construction project of “Modern Communication and Network Technology “, the SNCE offers a collection of specialties such as computer network technology, information security and management, cloud computing technology and application, communication technology and mobile communication technology. Meanwhile, SNCE also has launched a 3-year associate plus 2-year undergraduate program of computer network technology with Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Currently there are nearly 1200 students enrolled in SNCE.

 

The school has 40 full-time faculty members, including 2 professors/research engineers, 17 associate professors/senior engineers. Over 72% of all have master’s degrees.

 

To provide students with excellent practicing and training environment, the School is equipped with 20 specialized laboratories as well as the computer network technology training base, the new generation of information technology training base and other provincial training bases.

 

Working closely with a number of well-known enterprises (H3C, Huawei, ZET, DTT, China Mobile, China Telecom ) and other enterprises in and around Changzhou, SNCE has set up the certified training center for communications industry , Huawei Information and Network Technology Academy and H3C Networking Academy.
